Culen was the third consecutive Monarch to ascend the Throne after the murder of his Predecessor.
Other well-known names include Colin and Cuilean, which means Puppy in Gaelic, why he is also known as ‘The Puppy’. Having tried to seize Power years earlier, it is believed that he was the one who ordered the murder of Dubh, which he never proved.

Culen was killed in Revenge by Riderch in Lothian in 971 for raping his Daughter and killing Brother during a Campaign to regain Force over Strathcylde.
